Our Portuguese Living Lab Webinar

The Beira Interior Living Lab, coordinated by Monte Silveira, is the Portuguese The Living Lab of the project, which involves farms in the region with production systems, including cork oak forests, olive groves, pastures, sheep, goats and cattle. Together with farmers, problems, solutions and tests adapted to local conditions, marked by drought, high temperatures, shallow soils and risk of erosion are defined. Monitoring includes organic carbon, compaction, fertility, aggregate stability, soil biodiversity, vegetation cover and animal welfare. The aim is to produce applicable knowledge, strengthen cooperation and support decisions that increase soil health, profitability and resilience of farms.

An application period is open to recruit more farmers in the project. It is intended that farmers actively participate in the identification of problems, definition and implementation of trials and evaluation of regenerative practices, over 3 years. They should share knowledge, experience and data from the farm, facilitate monitoring activities, participate in meetings and trainings, and contribute to disseminating and replicating the best-performing solutions.

On October 28, 2026, at 4:00 pm (Lisbon time), a webinar will take place to present the project, the Living Lab and clarify candidates’ doubts regarding the application process. The webinar link will be sent later to each registrant’s email.
